How this event is conducted

This game can be played by an individual or with family members in the same household, using a computer or a smartphone and tablet.

The quiz will be hosted by the Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation using corporate videoconferencing facilities (similar to the Zoom video application) called GoToMeeting. The software for this application must be downloaded and installed on the particpant’s phone/tablet/computer prior to the start of the event. The actual trivia questions are on a quiz platform which does not have to be downloaded.

The quiz platform awards points based on whether an answer is correct AND the amount of time taken to answer.

If you have a computer, you can participate by running the video conference application in one browser window and the quiz open in a separate window. Re-size the windows so that they appear side by side.  This will allow you to see the questions in the GoToMeeting window and answer quickly in the quiz window.

If you have a smartphone and tablet, you can use one device to participate in the conference call and the other to submit your answers via the quiz window.

Once you log on to the GoToMeeting page, you will receive a PIN number which must be entered in the quiz window.

There will be a practice round of 5 questions, so all participants can see how the application works. And then the fun begins!
